Hi, Parents and Students,

Heraclitus said that there is no constant but change, and this is true of our upcoming classes. I thank you in advance for being such flexible people.

Here is the scoop: our performance class that was scheduled for March 29 needs to be changed to Saturday, April 5. After that I will be out of town again from April 12 through April 24. I will miss your lessons and two Saturdays, April 12 and April 19. Thankfully, Hillary Kingsley will be available again, so please contact her for your lesson times. Chamber music kids and the Saturday Group A class can come as usual.

Keep practicing well. I’m hearing a lot of progress.

Hi, Parents and Students,
Wonderful class on Saturday, if small.
I think I’ve spoken to all of you about this coming week, from Feb. 26 to March 5. I have arranged for you to have substitute lessons with Hillary Kingsley. I have emailed you her contact info so you can be in touch with her to confirm your time and day. She will perhaps be able to see you here and at your regular time, but please confirm this with her, as she does have other students.
She and I have talked about each of you and what you’ll be needing in your lessons. She has also heard all of you play. It will be a wonderful opportunity for you to play for someone new and listen to her ideas.

I will see you after March fifth. Practice well and enjoy your work with Hillary!

As promised, here are the remaining dates for Performance Classes, Dress Rehearsal, and our Recital.
Saturdays: 2/22, 3/29, 5/3, 5/24 (dress rehearsal)
Recital 6/1 at 2 p.m.
We may be adding a date for an assisted living facility.

It is important for you to send copies of your piano parts from any new music you’ll be learning to Jiyoung.

Happy Newish Year! All is normal again here and we are back in the saddle teaching.
I’d like to ask you to mark your calendars about an upcoming few days of teaching I’ll need to miss, from Thursday, Jan. 30 through Wed., Feb. 6. There still should be ample time to prepare for our first performance class this semester on Sat., Feb. 22. It would be a good idea for you more senior kids to arrange your piano times with Jiyoung, and to make sure she has a copy of your music.
I also saw an interesting ad for the Miro Quartet playing Schubert on a PBS series called Arts in Context. KSMQ digital 15.1 will air it this Thursday at 7:30 p.m., and KLRU will air it on Sunday, Jan. 26th at 2:30. Since we have a lot of Schubert being learned this semester, it will be good to hear as much as we can.

What a terrific recital we had! It feels like a long time ago now that we’re in the middle of the holidays. I hope you and your parents are proud; I know I am!

Thank you for the goodies, too. It made a party of it all.

We’ll begin lessons again on Jan. 6, 2014.  January and February Saturdays are normal, until our first Performance Class on Feb. 22.
We are working on the next months’ schedules. Thank you for hanging in there.

Chamber music kids: we’ll send parts after we make some repertoire decisions.

Bruce and I look forward to our class recital this Sunday, December 15, at 1:30. Please arrive earlier to tune.

We’ll be having pizza and juice afterward, so please bring some cookies or fruit to share with everyone. I want to thank all of you who are regularly bringing snacks, and hope that others will, too.

So trim your nails, tie your hair back so we can see your shining faces and let’s have a wonderful time.

Dress rehearsal this Saturday, Dec. 7, begins at 10 a.m. for Group A kids (same as normal Saturday time.)

Our concert time on Dec.15, Sunday, will be at 1:30, not 2 p.m. as indicated in previous posts.
