We are looking forward to our semester recital this Friday evening, Nov. 16, at 7 p.m. at the house. Please arrive in plenty of time to tune and warm up.  Friends and family members are welcome; if you plan to bring all of your cousins,  just let me know so we have enough macaroni and cheese to follow.
Please, no jeans or athletic shoes, but otherwise be comfortable.
Some of you are doing extra work on vibrato. I stumbled upon this curious quote from Carl Flesh’s Art of Violin Playing, written in 1924. He refers to vibrato as
“the unconscious merging of the tone with psychic powers slumbering deep within our subconsciousness.”
And we thought they were wiggles…
