May Class News, Vol. 12, No. 7
This Saturday, Nov. 30, the Saturday following Thanksgiving, I will be happy to teach. Thursday kids who missed lessons because of Thanksgiving are welcome to a make up. Depending on the response you give, I may be able to give a Group A class. The quartet does meet, and I have Imala coming
for a private lesson. Even those of you who already told me your schedule, please respond to remind me.
Our dress rehearsal is our Performance Class on Saturday, Dec. 7th.
OK, there’s more. I’m out of town Dec. 10th and 11th, Tuesday and Wednesday. I know that’s a drag before our concert, but I may be able to make these up on Friday, Dec. 13, depending on times. Please let me know.
Saturday, Dec. 14 is normal.
Our recital is Sunday, Dec. 15 at 2 p.m. Please arrive early to tune. Friends are welcome.
Our last day of the semester will be Saturday, Dec. 21st. We will start up again on Monday, Jan. 6, 2014.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you enjoy your shoe photo, for which I am so very thankful. The shoes, not the photo.
BACKWARDS
BACKWARDS today!
I am writing backwards because I think some of you FALL ASLEEP before the end of my POSTS.
Please bring SNACKS with no nuts for performance class this Saturday. I’ll bring juice.
LOVE,
Lucia

Hi Everyone,
Time to get out your calendars and colored pencils.
I will not be teaching from Thursday, Nov. 14, through Tuesday, Nov. 18.
We won’t be having Group A class on Saturday, Nov. 16, but the Beethoven piano quartet can rehearse here; please arrange this with me. I do have some availability for make-up lessons.
Our next Performance Class will be Saturday, Nov. 23. Group A kids arrive at 9:15 to begin their piano rehearsal.
Thanksgiving is Thursday, Nov. 28. I will have some availability to teach that weekend for those of you who are in town and able to come for a lesson.
Take deep breaths; this is a very busy time of year. Prioritize. Be clam.
Big hugs,
Lucia

Just reminding you about Performance Class this Saturday. We begin Group A Class at 9:15 for your rehearsal with piano, and run to 11:15.
The violinists in the Beethoven Quartet can rehearse their solos at 8:30. They will go downstairs at 9:15 to rehearse Beethoven during the Group A Class until 10:15, when they’ll come back to play their solos and quartet for the Group A kids.
Moms and Dads, would you please bring some snacks, since it will be a long morning. I’ll just ask that you avoid nuts since one of our newbies has a serious nut allergy. I’ll provide the juice and atmosphere.
I’ll see you in your lessons.

That was a fun class yesterday! Some of you left before I had a chance to tell you that I will not be teaching this Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, October 1, 2 and 3. I will be teaching my normal Saturday schedule, and will open Sunday, Oct. 6 for business to give make-up lessons. Please email me your windows of possibility, because I’d like to schedule you in a large block of time.
Cut your nails and practice carefully. Take a look at the Ravel performance I just posted for you, too.
Cheers,
Lucia
Ravel Tzigane
Dear Students,
Please watch and listen to Patricia Kopatchinskaja playing Ravel Tzigane.
May Class Newsletter Vol. 12, No.2 Errata
Hi Students and Parents,
Please go get your erasers. I had said that I’d be gone next week 7/22-26, but hat is no longer true. Instead I’ll be gone 8/8-13. Since your summer lesson times are irregular, please confirm your times with me.
Also, I wanted to tell you about a lovely moment during the last week of Bravo. Alec and Imala were performing Lalo and Ysaye as two of my youngest ones, age 3 and 6, listened. They also heard their first ever string quartets at the same recital. They were riveted!

I hope everyone is having a great summer. I’ve loved seeing some of you at the Bravo! concerts.
Bravo! will be coming to an end this Saturday, but the schedule is quite heavy for me, which makes your lessons difficult the rest of the week. It would be great if you’d come to the U to hear Imala and Alec and all of these terrific players instead of lessons.
Here is what is happening:
Wednesday is a 3:30 masterclass with Yair Kless. Imala will be playing Symphonie Espanol by Lalo.
Thursday is a casual concert at 3:30.
Alec and Imala play at the Thursday night 7:30 concert. Alec will be playing Ysaye No. 4, first movement. There is another concert Friday at 7:30. The final gala concert is Saturday at 2:30.
Please contact me about next week’s lessons. I can begin teaching as early as Monday. The following week takes me out of town from July 22-26.
Such is summer. Thank you for your flexibility!
