Hello Students and Parents! Welcome to Fall 2014, Vol. 13, No. 1, which means this is our thirteenth year teaching in the Twin Cities.

Bruce and I are very excited about this semester. He will be coaching the Schubert Quintet, Op. 163, D. 856.

There are a few of you, and you know who you are, who have not locked in lesson times. I have many new students and times for weekly lessons are running out!

Here are the dates for our required Performance Classes for fall 2014. Please carve them in stone!

Saturdays, Sept. 27, Oct. 25, Nov. 15, Dec. 13 (dress rehearsal)
Winter recital will be on Sunday, Dec.. 14, at 3 p.m.

Our Saturday Group A Class will meet on all Saturdays, beginning August 30. This Saturday Group A Class meets from 10 to 11 on weekly Group Class Saturdays. Performance Class Saturdays will begin for Group A Class at 9:00 for your rehearsal with piano, and run to 11:15. Group B (Book 4) will meet weekly on Wednesdays and for Performance Class Saturdays. Schubert Quintet kids and all others, info TBA.

Also, I hope you old timers participate in the ASTA Mary West Competition. The application form can be downloaded from from the website below. The application deadline is Oct. 9, 2014. The Competition date is Nov. 2 at Augsburg College. The Winners’ Recital is at Lake Harriet United Methodist Church on Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. Please send Jiyoung your piano music when we have decided what you’ll play.
